The driverless automobile has sprung from future fancy to a reality! Google cars are already in regular use at the company’s headquarters and at NASA’s Ames Research Center, both in Silicon Valley, California. Audi, Ford, Honda, and Daimler have announced plans to roll out their own versions by 2017. China has jumped on the bandwagon by making driverless cars a high priority infrastructure project for its busiest cities. Singapore has announced driverless bus operation by 2018. Google already has plans to begin expanding into other U.S. cities next year.
